Scanning our Computer System storage devices like hard disk, hard drive, ssd, sshd is an essential thing. As it keeps your pc running safely in this digital world. But does you have to scan your hard disk regularly for checking malwares and virus.

So first of all if we talk about malwares and viruses where all they come from is malicious sites that you visits, spam mails, downloads from insecure sites, courropted external devices like pen drives, flash drives and many more.

So this all are the sources of malwares and viruses. This things can easily make you computer devices slow. And if you do all this stuff like visiting insecure sites, plugging  in unknown external devices than definitely you should scan your computer systems on regular basis.

But if you don't do any of these task mentioned in the previous para then you don't have to scan you devices or hard disk on the regular basis. You can just scan your system once in a week or twice.

You can make  hard drive virtual partition and store all the messy or insecure stuff like pirated games, media content, data from unknown external devices, downloads from insecure site etc. their. If you do this then you  don't have to scan your whole pc instead that you can just simply scan that partition and there will be no cause to your pc.

But remember if the viruses and malwares are really danger like they can easily copy itself from 1 location to another in the computer memory or ransomware types. Then you should buy an external antivirus to scan the whole hard disk regularly because literally this type of viruses can cause many things to your computer devices like slowing down system, too much background app running, in fact they can lock your data and ask for bitcoins also unless the virus will permanently delete your data.

So the conclusion is if you are a simple computer user then you don't have to scan whole hard disk everyday, but if you do insecure stuff on your pc then you should definitely.
